MultiGen Wellness – Health Articles #29 – Low Testosterone is Not The Only Cause of Erectile Dysfunction & How Hormone Therapy Can Help
“I AM HAVING ED!!! WHY? IS MY TESTOSTERONE LOW!?”
I am really happy that we have come to such an advanced ability to understand the mind and body with today’s science and psychology, which overlap in the discussion of ED, i.e., Erectile Dysfunction. Men want to know what the “fix-all” is for this issue. Sometimes, we can find a root cause and solve it. Other times, we focus on balancing the body as a whole—BOOM! Most symptoms disappear!
I am Joshua G. Crampton, with MultiGen Wellness Online, and this has over time become my favorite topic. It’s actually one of the easiest issues to resolve. Today, I did a consultation with a new patient who was about 38 years old, experiencing ED. He had visited local clinics and tried a few testosterone therapies, but nothing really worked. He was able to take readily available prescriptions like Tadalafil, Sildenafil, and others. They worked, but in his words, they felt like “band-aids.”
The client was right! We love those medications and therapies, particularly Tadalafil. We also provide clients with Tadalafil when they first sign up as a “temporary band-aid” to allow them to begin fully participating in life as quickly as possible. We then focus on testing the entire endocrine system—i.e., the hormone system. We test the thyroid, adrenal glands, cortisol, hematocrit rate, testosterone, estradiol, cholesterol, and many more panels. Our goal is to balance the hormone system and resolve the root cause of the ED symptom.
In this way, we still provide ED medications like Tadalafil, but this time, patients are taking them for optimization, not just as a band-aid. We want to get our patients whole and functioning properly so they are balanced. Then, we focus on the optimization of the hormone system.
Testosterone is NOT the ONLY cause of ED:
This article discusses low testosterone, ED, and “Hormone Therapy” in relation to the fact that “Testosterone” in itself is not the sole cause of ED—considering both physical and psychological factors. What I mean here is that a man can have a perfectly optimized hormonal system yet still experience momentary or chronic ED due to psychological factors.
The great thing about “Testosterone Therapy” and Hormone Therapy is that by treating testosterone, natural innate masculinity rises in the body and, as a result, balances out many—if not all—”psychologically based” disruptions or disorders. For example, we have noticed that Hashimoto’s, which primarily affects the thyroid, begins to lessen in intensity, and patients see great improvements in their daily well-being and overall condition. Another example is patients with PTSD and hormonal imbalances—these individuals tend to experience more frequent and intense disruptions. By treating the hormonal system and the core hormones—such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and hematocrit rate—we can provide a solid foundation for both mental and emotional stability.
Psychological Considerations:
Additionally, clients who experience symptoms of OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD often notice a reduction in their symptoms and episodes when we begin to balance the hormone system. Imagine a male with low testosterone around 320 when it should be about 950, and his estrogen is around 32 when it should be closer to 12. Now imagine that this patient experiences mood disruptions—one morning, he feels happy and in control, and by the evening, life seems to crash down on him. These symptoms are a clear indication of hormonal imbalance.
We suggest that hormones play a vital role in emotional and physical balance and well-being. We love hearing from patients about how well they are doing in life, and we especially love when their wives report back to us about how happy they are with the changes!
