Maintaining healthy testosterone levels can support balanced dopamine function, which is important for overall well being. receptors and enzymes involved in dopamine synthesis.
How do you test for low or high dopamine levels?
There is no direct way to test for “dopamine”, as we can for testosterone, estradiol or the other key hormones we test. Evaluations depend upon certain known tests and comparisons to the current wellbeing of the patient.
Here are a few of the things we can test for:
- Neurotransmitter metabolites
- Markers of overall metabolic or endocrine function.
Key Markers might include blood glucose, thyroid levels and cholesterol levels. These can give insights into overall metabolic and endocrine health.
Core indicators of low dopamine might include low mood, decreased motivation and cognitive impairments. These symptoms can help guide further evaluation.
At MultiGen Wellness we strive to take into account the whole body and mind. The mind and body are interconnected, and the hormones are the bridge that connects them.
