North Dakota Hormone Therapy by Secure Video

In a state of farms, ranches and small towns, getting to a specialist can mean hours on the road. North Dakota hormone therapy with MultiGen Wellness brings the visit to your kitchen table by secure video. North Dakota law allows a first evaluation by telemedicine when it is equivalent to an in-person exam, such as secure video paired with the testing your provider needs, and it rules out questionnaire-only or audio-only first visits. Men dealing with signs of low testosterone can find out whether testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is appropriate, and women in perimenopause and menopause can get a straight answer on whether hormone replacement therapy (HRT) fits their health history.

It starts with a consult request. Next comes blood work, then a video visit with a licensed provider who reviews your labs, symptoms and history. If treatment is a fit, your prescription is filled and your medication is shipped to your address.

Visits cost $247 to start (includes your first provider visit), then $97 per visit. Request your consult or call 1-800-259-0015.

Hormone Therapy in North Dakota: What to Know

North Dakota writes its telemedicine standards into state law (N.D. Cent. Code 43-17-44 and 43-17-45):

  • Video, not just a form. An evaluation can be done entirely by telemedicine if it is equivalent to an in-person exam, such as secure videoconferencing with the diagnostic testing a like in-person exam would need. A static online questionnaire or an audio-only conversation does not meet the standard of care.
  • Referrals when video is not enough. A licensee practicing telemedicine must be able to refer patients who need emergency or in-person care.
  • Know who is treating you. Your provider must verify your identity and disclose their own identity and licensure status in a way you can check.
  • Prescription monitoring. Testosterone is Schedule III under federal law (DEA list). Licensees who prescribe controlled substances by telemedicine must participate in the North Dakota Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (N.D. Admin. Code 50-02-15), which the State Board of Pharmacy operates.

You can check a physician or physician assistant with the North Dakota Board of Medicine license verification.

Labs. When we checked in October 2026, neither of the major national labs listed a patient service center in North Dakota in its online directory (lab locations, other lab locations). That means lab work may require travel to a patient service center in a neighboring state, so factor that trip in before you request a consult.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is hormone therapy available in North Dakota?

New-Patient Special: $247 enrollment — includes your first provider visit.

Yes — MultiGen Wellness providers are licensed to treat patients throughout North Dakota, from Fargo and Grand Forks to smaller towns statewide. All care is delivered through secure, convenient telehealth visits.

Does insurance, HSA, or FSA cover treatment?

MultiGen Wellness is a self-pay practice. We do not bill insurance and do not accept HSA or FSA cards for services.

Do I need to visit an office in Bismarck?

No. Every visit is conducted by telehealth. The only in-person step is a routine lab draw at a national lab location near you in North Dakota — no office visit required.

How soon will I see results?

Many patients report improved energy, mood, and sleep within the first few weeks of treatment, with fuller results typically developing over 2–3 months as hormone levels stabilize.

Can my first North Dakota evaluation be a phone call?

No. North Dakota law says an evaluation made up only of an audio conversation, or only a static online questionnaire, does not meet the standard of care before a condition is first diagnosed or treated, and the same standard of care applies to video and in-person medicine. Your first visit with a licensed provider happens by secure video, alongside your lab work. After that, the law lets your provider decide what follow-up care is appropriate. For testosterone, federal rules matter too. Federal telemedicine flexibilities that let controlled medications such as testosterone be prescribed without a prior in-person visit currently run through December 31, 2026 (Federal Register). If federal rules change, your provider will tell you whether an in-person visit is needed.

Where do I get blood work in North Dakota?

This step takes planning. When we checked in October 2026, neither of the major national labs listed a patient service center in North Dakota in its online directory, so getting blood drawn may require travel to a patient service center in a neighboring state. Plan for that drive before you start, and keep in mind that periodic labs are part of ongoing treatment. Wherever you go, book a morning slot, since MedlinePlus says testosterone is usually drawn between 7 and 10 a.m.

Does North Dakota track testosterone prescriptions?

Yes. Testosterone is a federally controlled Schedule III drug, and the North Dakota Prescription Drug Monitoring Program lets prescribers look up a patient’s controlled substance history. The Board of Medicine’s PDMP guidelines tell a licensee to request a report once they determine that a reported drug will be prescribed on a protracted basis, as ongoing TRT usually is, and to document each report they review. Our guide to TRT side effects covers what else your provider monitors.

I just moved to North Dakota. Can my previous provider keep treating me?

Possibly, for a limited time. A rule effective January 1, 2025 lets a physician licensed elsewhere continue telehealth care for a North Dakota resident when the relationship began in a state where that physician is licensed. That care can continue for up to one year after the relationship began; after that, an encounter must take place in a state where the physician is licensed before telehealth can resume for another year. The exception applies to physicians, and new conditions may require a North Dakota licensed provider. If you are starting fresh, request a consult with us.

Can women in North Dakota get help for menopause online?

Yes. Hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping and mood changes are common during the menopausal transition, which the National Institute on Aging says most women begin between ages 45 and 55, with symptoms that can last between two and eight years. A video visit lets a licensed provider weigh your symptoms against your personal and family history before recommending anything.
