How often will I be re-evaluated on testosterone?

The Endocrine Society also recommends checking symptoms, testosterone, hematocrit, and prostate cancer risk during the first year of treatment. Your provider sets the schedule based on your labs and how you feel, and follow-up visits with us are $97 each.

What must a physician tell me at a telehealth visit?

For physicians, New Hampshire law (RSA 329:1-c) requires them to verify who you are, give you their name, contact information, and the type of license they hold, and get your oral or written consent. They must also complete or review your history, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, and a record of your prescription drugs and doses. Can my primary care doctor see my records?

With your consent, yes. RSA 329:1-d directs physicians who treat patients directly by telemedicine to keep a medical record and, subject to the patient’s consent, forward it to the patient’s primary care or treating provider when appropriate. Sharing results helps your regular doctor keep a full picture, especially if you take other medications. Tell our team during your consult whether you have a primary care provider you want kept in the loop.

I live on the Seacoast or in the Lakes Region. Where are labs?

If you live on the Seacoast, ask our team to point you to the closest draw site. In the Lakes Region, a national lab lists a site in Gilford, and in the west there is one in Claremont. The national lab directories do not currently show a location in the North Country, so if you live up there, plan the lab trip early, book a morning slot when you can, and ask our team to point you to the closest draw site.

If I still have a uterus, does that change my HRT?

Usually, yes. Mayo Clinic explains that women who still have a uterus are generally prescribed a progestogen along with estrogen, because estrogen alone can thicken the uterine lining and raise the risk of endometrial cancer. If you have had your uterus removed, you may not need a progestogen. And if your only symptoms are vaginal, low-dose vaginal estrogen is usually used to treat just those.
